Birthrites
If you have had a caesarean and/or you are contemplating having more
children, this site is essential reading. I found the information very
helpful, especially the part on caesarean birth plans (which unfortunately
became necessary for me with my second baby). Because of Birthrites Daniel's birth was a beautiful and empowering experience instead of a routine
slash and dash operation.
CARES-SA
CARES-SA provides support for women who have had caesareans, need a
caesarean and/or want to avoid a repeat or first time caesarean.
Natural
Parenting magazine
This magazine has stacks of great information in it for those
who want to learn about gentle discipline, environmentally
responsible living, natural health care, pregnancy and birth care,
natural learning for children, attachment parenting and the like.
The online forum is a supportive community for those who are
journeying towards more conscientious parenting.
Gentle Christian Mothers
GCM is much like NP except that it is for Christian women who are
into attachment parenting.
The Bub
Hub
The Bub Hub is an online Australian resource and information centre
about everything to do with pregnancy, birth and early parenting.
Australian Christian Artists
Network
Website for Christian musicians with lots of great info and
resources.
Australian Performing Rites Association
An essential for Australian singer songwriters, composers and lyricists
who are lucky enough to have their music performed or broadcast.
Home
Midwifery Association Qld
I attended HMA meetings for a few months and just love
this inspiring group of midwives and mothers.
TABS (Trauma and Birth
Stress) New Zealand
If you have experienced trauma as a result of birth, which sadly too
many women have, check this site out. A chapter of TABS is being set up
in Australia. Stay tuned for more info on this site in future.
Birth Trauma Support
This siite contains information for mothers, fathers, babies and
family members recovering from birth experiences that were
stressful for them. These birth experiences can take place in any
environment, and can be vaginal or caesarean. This site contains
information about recovery from traumatic and stressful
birth experiences of any type, including caesarean recovery. It does
not specifically address neonatal loss issues.
Friends of
the Birth Centre Queensland
Friends of the Birth Centre is a non profit organisation established
by parents who have birthed at the Royal Women's Hospital Birth
Centre in Brisbane. There are now several branches of FBC including
an FBC Townsville and FBC Gold Coast (for the newly oppened Birth
Centre at the Gold Coast Hospital!). I have been involved in several
FBC events and protests and am proud to call many of the movers and
shakers of FBC my friends.
